SuCo Spotlight August ’24 – Micah Clarke

This month SuCo wants to spotlight Analytics and Data Science guru, Micah Clarke. In his nearly three years at SuCo, Micah has built our Analytics A/B testing and funnel optimization engine from scratch! He is incredibly adept at finding profit driven solutions to complex business problems. Without his steadfast dedication to helping us make informed data driven decisions, SuCo would not be where it is today. His next feat will be leading our Automation and Machine Learning initiatives to continue our growth as a best in class Marketing Technology company. Take a minute to learn a little more about Micah…

Can you share a project you’re particularly proud of and why it stands out to you?

Earlier this year, we enhanced the Bid Modifier tool in LDP by adding a new feature. I found this project particularly rewarding because we leveraged analytics to identify a gap, develop a solution, and measure the results, which had a significant positive impact.

How do you balance the technical and creative aspects of your role?

I believe it’s crucial to envision the most ambitious and optimal solutions without being limited by technical constraints. Once you have those ideas, you can then figure out the technical details to make them a reality. Adopting an ‘anything’s possible’ mindset is beneficial because striving to implement those ideas can significantly enhance your technical skills as you explore how to bring them to life.

What advice would you give to someone starting out as an analyst?

Be curious and find joy in the process of finding the answer to a question or testing a hypothesis. Many times an analytics exercise can be like searching for a needle in a haystack and finding it is very satisfying, but you have to love the hunt.

What is one app you couldn’t live without?

Spotify! I really enjoy music and listening to podcasts and Spotify gives me great playlists and podcast recommendations. I also really like how Spotify lets me know when there’s a concert nearby for someone I listen to a lot.
